The Wood Stork loves to hunt  around the swamps of Florida. This large, white and bald headed bird times its breeding season to Florida’s “winter” season, which varies each year.

The reason the Wood Stork prefers the winter months in Brevard County is shallow waters that provide easier hunting grounds, with small fish and other small prey in clear sight. A unique fact about the woodstork is it’s the only stork that breeds in the United States.
